Legacy™ shingles are Class 4 rated for impact (highest rating possible to defend against hail) – Malarkey's proprietary NEX® Polymer Modified (Rubberized) Asphalt formulation rubberizes the asphalt core of the shingle to improve shingle strength and durability, while reducing landfill waste – extending product life.
They also include a proprietary Scotchguard® formulation that reduce algae streaks.
Legacy™ Scotchgard™ shingles have up to 35% greater tear strength and 65% greater granule retention than the industry standard (ASTM D3462), and meet the stringent IBHS FORTIFIED™ Roof requirements.
Each average-sized roof of Legacy™ Scotchgard™ shingles diverts the equivalent of ~6 tires and ~4,000 plastic bags from the landfill.
